Our client, Mike Candler of Leicester City Council, wanted a building that would be a creative hub, kick-starting the redevelopment of the city’s St Georges Cultural Quarter. It needed to accommodate:
studios for artists and small businesses
conference area
gallery
café
meeting rooms
a yard for outdoor art events
He wanted it fast. We had just ten weeks to submit a planning application for the building and simultaneously to seek tenders from builders.
